Keeping Customers Happy With Appetizers

by Patricia Farnham
One way that you can keep customers happy is by offering a menu with appetizers on it. They may be extremely hungry when they come in so waiting for their meal can seem like eternity. The smell of the food in there is going to make them hungrier than before as well. It can be frustrating to wait for food and that could result in them going to another location where they can get a meal fast. With some locations such as Mexican food places there are appetizers already given to the guests at no charge. Almost all of these types of restaurants offer free chips and salsa for the table to enjoy. This is a delightful part of the meal and it can often be one of the main reasons why the guests return again and again to eat there. You want to be able to offer you guests plenty of wonderful appetizers to choose from. Think about the different things you can offer including onion rings, cheese sticks, and even BBQ wings. Some people may have a hard time deciding which appetizer they want. You can have a set price for a selection of several of them. This type of sampler place is ideal for allowing customers to try out new appetizers. You need to get your customers to take notice of your appetizers on the menu though in order for them to buy them. You want to increase sales of them all you can. Place pictures on the menu to show them what they would be missing out on. Many people will order appetizers due to the look of them on the menu. Make sure your staff understands their role in promoting the sales of appetizers as well. They can simple ask each table if they would like to order anything from that menu. You can also have competitions where you have them all promote a particular appetizer on a given night. The one that sells the most orders of it will get a great prize. Make sure orders for appetizers get in to the kitchen quickly. They need to have a very fast turn around time. This way your guests won’t have to wait long before they have something in front of them to eat. It also allows them plenty of time to enjoy it before the full meal comes to the table. Along with the delivery of the appetizers needs to be everything the guests could need. One person may order it, but everyone will likely eat it. Offer small plates for each person at the table. This way they can all share the appetizers as they desire to do so. They need to have access to utensils, napkins and everything else they need to enjoy those appetizers. You can keep customers happy by offering a menu with appetizers. Not everyone will order them but you can be sure a great number of your guests will. It is important to offer great quality with all of your appetizers as well. This way people will be encouraged to get them again when they come back to your restaurant.
