Your hobby can be an excellent tool for helping you to escape the so called ‘rat Race’. You can be your own boss and have financial independence.
I believe if you are going to have a home based business, it should have the potential to provide financial independence for you and your family. Let’s face it, even if you are already financially sound and you just want to have fun with your hobby, why not let it make you wealthy also?
Imagine this, your favorite hobby is making someone rich over the internet. In this age, information reigns supreme and those that can provide it are the kings and queens. Why not move up to the rank of information royalty and let your hobby make you a financial king also. The internet and the number of internet users is growing fast and there is plenty of room for you.
The U.S. boasts over 100 million active internet users and over 165 million people with access to the internet. Worldwide there are in excess of 450 million internet users and over half of them regularly take a trip on the information highway.
What do people search for on the internet? INFORMATION! Whatever your interests are, hundreds and possibly thousands of surfers are currently searching for facts and info about the same things that interest you.
So, you’ve got a hobby and it brings you solace, joy, relaxation, fun, etc. Did you know that it also has associated with it something of great value? Your know how, experiences and expertise are of value to someone else who is interested in that same hobby or a closely related one. If you were to make your knowledge about your hobby available to them in some form that they can access easily over the internet (an ebook or video)…. guess what, You just became an infopreneur!
I’d like to write an ebook but I just don’t have the skills, you might be thinking. So lets get some help with that little problem. You could go to the internet and search for Ghostwriters, but you might get a pig in a poke so to speak. Instead, go to one of those sites where experts offer their services in a bidding environment. My favorites are www.elance.com and www.guru.com (by the way, they offer assistance with writing your request job offer as well as evaluating and picking a service provider). Here is a tip that will help you get across what you want: make an audio recording of your experiences on one of those inexpensive little digital recorders which allow you to upload the recording to you computer and then provide that recording to your selected ghostwriter. That way you don’t have to be skillful in writing and sometimes it is much easier and flows better when you just speak what you want rather than trying to write it down.
There is another very good way to capitalize off of your hobby via the internet. Find someone else who is selling information about your hobby over the internet and become an affiliate for that product. As an affiliate, you promote the product and each sale that occurs as a result of your promotional efforts pays you a nice commission. These commissions can often be as much as 75%. I suggest you don’t promote anything for which you get paid less than 35%.
Hey! I don’t know how to promote a product, you might say. As a matter of fact, I don’t know how to do much of any of this. Well, my friend, thats the point, “This Ain’t Rocket Scienceâ€, and you don’t have to know a lot, and what you don’t know is easy to learn or compensate for. How some ever, you have a large part of the problem solved. YOU ARE THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT. You can find forums and
blogs on the internet where people are talking about your hobby and then you can post an intelligent comment which includes your affiliate link. When people read your interesting comment, they will click on your affiliate link and go to the product website where if they purchase, you will get a commission.
Articles are supposed to be only so long and I am getting very close to the limit so I will close this out now. I realize I could have explained it all in a little more detail and I will post some additional articles doing that later. My point is: you have a hobby and it could be earning you a good deal of money, even a full time income. A lot of people have converted their hobby into income and are now earning $2,500, $5,000, $10,000 and more per month as affiliates promoting other peoples products over the information highway.
